With all the bad I see, Lord knows there has to be some good. I am relieved when I receive kind gestures. We are still using our hearts! Our encounters with others shape who we are. My new job has taught me a lot about people. I met a World War II Veteran who proudly showed me his flyer jet which was depicted on his license plate. I work at the front end of a pharmacy and my elder customers hold a dear place in my heart. They have been the most kindest and most uplifting people I have ever met. Mother taught me to respect my elders and I am always inclined to hear their life stories.I listen to their recollections of struggle and wisdom, and times of the past, and I feel blessed to have the opportunities that God has given me. When I am down, I will encounter a customer who can barely move, and they still smile and crack jokes with me. I listen when they say. “You will do well, young lady.”, or when they say, “You should be in the magazines.” I love to encourage others, but it is one of the greatest blessings when others encourage me.
